It was thanks to Ricardo that the first trip was even possible. Based in Bogota in Colombia, Ricardo was able to organise everything on the ground and have everything up and running for when the first coffee voyagers arrived for the first trip

Ricardo has, by a bit of chance has had the fortune to live in the world of special coffee since 2002.

In all this time, what he has enjoyed the most has been meeting people who put their soul into their work and who strive every day to achieve a high quality cup of coffee.

This is why during the last 10 years he has dedicated an important part of his time to coffee education, initially with barista courses for the clients of Tecnocafé, his company in Bogotá. He has been a teacher for clients, for the students of the Gato Dumas Institute in Bogotá, and for people who want to be certified as Baristas, Roasters or Tasters before the Specialty Coffee Association.

His students started calling him #elprofedecafe. (the coffee professor).
